Aspect

Dialogical Coaching & Reflective Practice

What Aspect IsAspect is for individuals who seek greater clarity about their situation, their options, and the possibilities open to them in their personal or professional lives. It is a dialogical process designed to help individuals develop greater agency, enabling them to move forward in ways that are both realistic and meaningful.Through structured conversation and reflective exploration, clients clarify their priorities, define meaningful goals, and develop plans for progress.

Who Aspect Is ForAspect is designed for individuals at points of transition, reorientation, or unrealised potential. This may include people who:• seek greater clarity about their situation, priorities, or future• feel underused or misaligned• sense unrealised creative or intellectual potential• are navigating professional or identity transitions• are exploring new possibilities or directionsMany people reach a point where old assumptions no longer fit, existing roles feel limiting, or future directions are unclear. Aspect provides a space to think, reflect, and move forward with greater clarity and purpose.

What Clients GainThe aim of Aspect is not to prescribe solutions, but to enable individuals to achieve greater clarity about their situation, their choices, and the possibilities available to them.Through this process, clients can progress from:• diffuse potential → cohesive focus• internal tension → grounded confidence• uncertainty → agency• unclear direction → structured orientation• latent capacity → actionable strategyThe outcome is not a predetermined destination, but a clearer understanding of how to move forward with purpose and direction.

What the process involvesWork typically begins by exploring the client’s current situation, identifying areas that feel significant, uncertain, or unresolved. From there, the discussion develops through clarification of priorities and assumptions, toward considering possible directions and next steps. Some conversations provide space for reflection and clearer understanding. Others lead to concrete decisions or plans. Both are valid outcomes.Conversations may involve:
• framing lived experience
• examining perspectives and assumptions
• clarifying priorities and goals
• exploring possible directions
• identifying realistic next steps
• developing structured plans where appropriate

ApproachAspect Practice is grounded in dialogue. Understanding, meaning, and clarity emerge through conversation rather than instruction.Where appropriate, elements of different coaching perspectives and frameworks may be drawn upon, without assuming that any single model is universally applicable. The dialogue is shaped by the individual and their situation rather than by adherence to a predetermined method. The aim is not to prescribe change, but to help individuals understand their situation more clearly, enabling them to act with greater agency and purpose.Throughout the process, the client remains the authority over their own choices and direction.

Reflections From Clients"The coaching Chris offers is invaluable; he helped identify common themes in the issues I was raising and provided helpful feedback. This was extremely useful in clarifying areas for development and identifying a course of action.""Chris has a way of asking questions that cuts through the noise. Our conversations consistently leave me with a clearer understanding of what I'm actually thinking and why.""My sessions with Chris were incredibly valuable in helping me clarify and focus my goals. He guided me in articulating and turning my creative ambitions into a concrete plan, while also helping me think through my next career move. I had been feeling stuck, trying to balance my work as a teacher with my passion for making music, but I now have a much clearer sense of direction and purpose. Throughout the process, I felt genuinely listened to, supported, and never pressured. I would highly recommend Chris to anyone looking for thoughtful and effective creative coaching.""The sessions were highly insightful in regards to the advice I obtained. In retrospect this was achieved in part via the well structured and supportive manner in which Chris guided, and afforded me the space in which to reflect on my current professional skill set and associated practice. It is not normally easy for me to hold up the proverbial mirror and walk away feeling a new, clear sense of direction and focus. This was achieved in a short space of time, and I have no issue in recommending this service.""The sessions I did with Chris really helped me to get some clarity on areas of my personal and professional life that really needed some fine-tuning. He gave me the right tools to tackle these with ease! It was a pleasure to work with him on this."
